371,200 entrepreneurs

Opciones, a Cuban economics magazine, reports that there are now 371,200 Cubans working in the small entrepreneurial sector, counting both entrepreneurs and their employees.

That’s an increase of more than 200,000 since late 2010 when the government changed its policies changed and started granting licenses to virtually all comers.

This year it is expected that state payrolls will shrink by 170,000 and private employment will grow by 240,000.
